I sculpt by lashing sticks and vines together with steel wire to create organic grids that capture the fragility and evanescence of light, air and shadow that are found in forests.  Inspired by the architectural grids formed by tree canopies and limbs, my sculptures' intersecting lines reflect the complexity of natural systems.  My paintings and drawings distill this complexity to heavily worked planes of paint or charcoal, marks and intersections.  In all of my work, the light, air, and space are critical elements.
